With all the hoopla surrounding the highly anticipated iPad 2 and Apple™s , Apple has shown once again that it has the ability to continue to deliverOne more thing.Today, it's not an iPhone or an iPod, but rather an updated version of their MacBook Pro line that includes their 13", 15" and 17" models.
Apple announced that the new units would run up to twice as fast as the current models. The 13" models will be powered by dual-core Intel i5 & i7 processors; the 15" & 17"models will now all be blessed with quad-core Intel i7 processors.
Graphics capability has been upgraded too. All models incorporate the Intel HD Graphics 3000 processors with the 15"and 17" models also having select AMD Radeon HD processors, which can potentially triple the processing of the previous models.
A built-in 7-hour battery is now standard across the board.
Thunderbolt, Fast Indeed
One new feature that I’m excited to see is Thunderbolt, a new technology that allows you to connect high speed devices and displays through one port with data transfer rates of up to 10Gbps. This is smoking fast considering that USB 2.0 is 480Mbps and USB 3.0, which we have yet to see on a Mac runs at 5 Gbps. Transfer rates like these is also great for driving HD video to large displays and for backing up and transferring massive amounts of data.

Apple is also taking FaceTime to the next level by incorporating a FaceTime HD video camera in all MacBook Pro models. It’s 3x times the resolution of the existing camera and allows for widescreen video and 720p HD calls.
